Success Strategies

for People Hands on in Their Business

Over 60,000! That's how many books are listed on Amazon when I just searched "Entrepreneur Books." When I searched "Sole Proprietor Books," guess how many I found – 234, and most of these were not even related to Sole Proprietorship. It's almost as though the world doesn't see a difference between business owners looking to scale a business through delegation and acquisition and business owners who want to run a small, thriving business that they can stay hands-on. What do you think?

What is the DIFFERENCE between an ENTREPRENEUR and a SOLE PROPRIETOR?

I submit to you that there is a difference between Entrepreneurs and Sole Proprietors. There is enough of a distinction between the two that he or she requires an entirely different business paradigm. For business owners to keep swinging hammers, turning wrenches, mopping floors, mowing yards, consulting, writing, cooking, and whatever else consumers need and be successful, they need to diverge from the models, plans, advice, consultation, and execution that Entrepreneurs follow.

Through writing The Sole Proprietor's Handbook and fulfilling the role of Head Curator at Sole Success, my mission is to provide a platform for Sole Proprietors to thrive. This world needs men and women who don't want to lay their tool bags down, and I want to help make sure they don’t.

So, which are you? Are you a Sole Proprietor or an Entrepreneur? The best way to answer the question is with a question: Do you want to be hands-on or hands-off? Do you want to stay hands-on in your business, or do you want to hand off the work that brings you a sense of satisfaction to others and manage a business? Both have their hands on something. Entrepreneurs have their hands-on growth plans, while Sole Proprietors have their hands on their tools. If you want to keep your hands on your tools, then you carry the noble title of a Sole Proprietor!
